RICHMOND HILL – Mayor Dave Barrow and Members of Council applauded local volunteers at the 45th Annual Volunteer Achievement Awards held on Friday, April 20, 2007. Five outstanding individuals were celebrated for their dedication and commitment to building a stronger community through volunteering in the Town of Richmond Hill.

At this year’s event at the Premiere Ballroom and Convention Centre, recipients Kathrine Mabley, Shirley Bruce, Ruth Coxford, Fern Russell and Doug Beeforth were recognized for their remarkable and innovative efforts with a reception and awards ceremony.

Recipients were chosen by Council from nominations submitted by the public. The recipients contributed to the community in various areas, including minor league sports, the hospital’s volunteer association and the Oak Ridges environmental movement.
